Peripheral Ports

A peripheral port (or a computer port) is a cable port that allows you to connect external devices to your computer. Equipment such as headsets, microphones, mice, and keyboards all need peripheral ports to work with the computer.

There are a wide variety of types of peripheral ports including USB and HDMI ports. USB ports are the most common, allowing connections with keyboards, mice, and most microphones. HDMI ports are used for connecting to TVs or external monitors. Learn more
